Héritage

The Tribute

There is what we receive, and there is what we choose to carry forward. Héritage is a rare wine—with only 1,200 bottles produced—celebrating a century of working the land at Blacailloux. This tribute cuvée marks the hundredth harvest since Marguerite Chamoin planted the estate’s first vines in 1917. It was a pioneering act that her great-granddaughters continue today with the same unwavering commitment to freedom and respect for the living world.

Material and Craft

Born from the two oldest Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon plots—rooted at an altitude of nearly 400 meters—this fine red wine derives its tension from the cool nights of the Sainte-Baume region. The stony, clay-limestone soil shapes its structure. Every step here is carried out by hand: manual harvesting, double sorting, and gravity-fed vatting to preserve the absolute integrity of the berries.
A 12-month aging period, split between barrels and ceramic vessels, adds depth and refines the texture without compromising the purity of the fruit.
In the glass, the dense purple hue heralds a profound nose of blackberry, blueberry, and *garrigue*, extending into notes of smoke and cocoa. The palate is rich and velvety, underpinned by ripe tannins and a lingering finish.

Héritage does not seek to freeze the past. It is a powerful, timeless red wine for cellaring that asserts the character of our high-altitude Provence and the continuity of a family commitment.
